The Simple Bible Gospel in 5 steps
(How to be "Saved, Born Again, have Eternal Life,")
Like most things in life, being "saved, born again, and having eternal life" has basic and fundamental meanings. They also have meanings which grow as we study and exercise them. Some people are overwhelmed by the seeming complexity of the Bible. While it is true that being a Christian, a Follower of Christ, a Saint is the general subject of the whole Bible, a person does not need to master it all in order to be one. Being a human, we learn and understand more as we mature, but we do not become more human. Likewise while Christians can and should mature they cannot become "more saved, more born again, have more eternal life."
So, what is the Basic, Fundamental, Simple, Bible Gospel in 5 Steps?
God has made all the preparations. He set all the standards. He became one of us in order to do what we could not do. God does the giving, we do the responding.
1. GOD SAYS AND WE ALL DEMONSTRATE THAT WE ARE ALL SINNERS.
Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
> Are you willing to admit that God is right about both Himself and yourself and you want to live for God's glory rather then your own? (Confess and Repent)
2. DO YOU WANT YOUR SINS FORGIVEN?
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I Am the way, and the truth , and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
> God has made all the provisions for our forgiveness. (Atonement/Propitiation)
3. GOD REQUIRES THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT HE DID FOR YOU WHAT YOU COULD NEVER DO FOR YOURSELF, NAMELY, PAY YOUR OWN DEATH PENALTY AND RAISE YOURSELF FROM THE DEAD.
Romans 10:9,10 "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness and with the mouth he confesses resulting in salvation."
1John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
> Agreeing with what God has said and done is believing, trusting, having faith in God Himself.
4. BELIEVING WHAT GOD HAS DONE INVOLVES SURRENDERING YOU LIFE TO JESUS CHRIST.
Revelation 3:20 Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me."
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,
John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
> Both believing and obedience are involved. But neither deserve or earn the gift of salvation, new birth, or eternal life that God gives.
Ephesians 2:8,9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
5. ARE YOU READY TO ASK GOD TO SAVE YOU, GIVE YOU NEW BIRTH AND ETERNAL LIFE? ARE YOU READY TO ASK JESUS CHRIST TO BE YOUR SAVIOR AND LORD?
Pray these thoughts in your own words: "Dear God, I admit I am a sinner. Thank your that Jesus Christ paid the death penalty for my sin and lives to give me His Life. Please forgive my sin, come into my life and make me the person You want me to be. Thank you."
1John 5:11-13 "And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son, Jesus. He who has the Son has the life, and who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God in order that you may know that you have eternal life."
Welcome to your new and never ending life as a follower of God, a Saint, a Christian.
You are ready to learn how much God loves you.
You are ready to grow!
1Peter 2:2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, (Bible Truth) that by it you may grow up into salvation."
2Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
